The Kremlin’s property management department has allocated 43.3 million USD for the renovation and restoration of a mansion outside the city of St. Petersburg.
According to the financial daily “The Bell”, the mansion was once the former residence of Russia’s imperial family. It will be converted for use by the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill. It occupies almost 2.5 hectares of land south of St. Petersburg and was designated as a Church property in 1994. Works are expected to be completed in 2021.
