Some 50,000 people ignored the inclement weather and participated in a mass prayer service in the Montenegro capital of Podgorica on Monday evening, in defense of the Serbian Orthodox Church’s rights and stature in the small Adriatic country.
Tens of thousands of faithful in the predominately Orthodox country continue to rally against a recently passed law that the Church has dramatically warned is a direct attempt to confiscate its properties and relics, which date before WWII.
The rally was addressed by the Metropolitan Bishop of Montenegro and the Littoral, His Eminence Amphilochios.
