With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, His Eminence Metropolitan Eirinaios of Florina, Prespes and Eordaia had the joy of visiting the Church of Panagia Kamariani in Red Hill, Melbourne.

His Eminence was received with respect by His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne, together with the Parish Priest, Archimandrite Irinaios, and members of the parish community.

Upon his arrival, Metropolitan Eirinaios venerated the holy church and reverently kissed the sacred icon of Panagia Kamariani. A tour of the parish facilities followed, during which His Eminence had the opportunity to become closely acquainted with the work, infrastructure, and life of the local parish.

Thereafter, His Eminence and his accompanying delegation partook of an afternoon meal.

Fr Irinaios briefed His Eminence on the parish’s various spiritual and pastoral activities, with particular reference to the forthcoming “Philotimo” Festival, to be held in the church courtyard. The festival aims to support the youth ministry of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia, guided by Bishop Kyriakos through the Diocese of Melbourne.

A particularly moving moment occurred when Metropolitan Eirinaios offered, as a blessing and token of love, a commemorative gift to Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne. At the same time, he presented all members of the parish with a small keepsake from the Holy Metropolis of Florina, Prespes and Eordaia, as an expression of thanks and spiritual gratitude for their hospitality.

In closing, His Eminence warmly thanked Bishop Kyriakos and Fr Irinaios for their cordial welcome and hospitality, expressing his wishes for continued progress, spiritual fruitfulness, and the ongoing advancement of the parish’s important work, to the glory of God and the edification of His people.
