Metropolitan of Kitiou, on Cyprus, announces resignation

The Metropolitan of Kitiou, His Eminence Chrysostomos, announced his resignation this week, in an emotional address to congregants on the eastern Mediterranean island of Cyprus.
In a statement, he said “…If I purposely or inadvertently caused sadness or dismay to anyone, I apologize and, at the same time, offer my forgiveness to anyone that may have caused me pain. I am in the 81st year of my life and have completed 46 years of priestly ministry on the throne of the Kition Metropolis.”
