Visiting US Acting Assistant Secretary of European and Eurasian Affairs, Philip Reeker, was received in Thessaloniki on Wednesday by the northern Greece Metropolitan, His Eminence Anthimos.
On his part, US Consul General in Thessaloniki, Gregory Pfleger, in a Tweet, noted that it was “…an honor to introduce Acting Assistant Secretary Reeker to Metropolitan Anthimos. We reaffirmed our shared commitment to religious freedom in addition to discussing the ecumenical role of the Orthodox Church and the important humanitarian work the Church undertakes”.
Pfleger later met with Thessaloniki mayor-elect Konstantinos Zervas.
