The mobile health unit was purchased with a grant allocated by the Holy and Great Vatopedi Monastery on Mt. Athos.
The Metropolitan of KisSAmos and SeLInos, His Eminence Amfilochios, who also serves as the president of the clinic’s board of directors, noted this week that the goal of the program is to implement first-stage health prevention and screening in primary schools, as well as to educate pupils, parents and teachers on the significance of prevention and healthy living models.
The Metropolitan expressed his thanks to the volunteer medical staff that accompany the mobile health unit, and especially to the Abbot of the Vatopedi Monastery, Elder Archimandrite Ephraim.
Amfilochios underlined that the benevolence of Abbot Ephraim and the Mt. Athos monastery provides the opportunity for hundreds of local residents to have primary health care access.
