The Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church on Tuesday announced that His Eminence Hilarion has been replaced from his post as chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department of External Church Relations, as a member of the Holy Synod as well as Metropolitan of Volokolamsk.
In an announcement following a regular session of the Holy Synod, the announcement stated that Russian Orthodox Metropolitan Markos of Budapest-Hungary will be reposted as the administrator of the specific central Europe Diocese by Hilarion.
