New assisted living facilities by Archdiocese of Athens’ Maria Kokkori Foundation

The inauguration of two new assisted-living facilities, by the Archdiocese of Athens’ Maria Kokkori Foundation, was held on Tuesday in the Varnava township, due north of the greater Athens area.

The inauguration was attended by Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos and Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos.

The two new units are named Athanassios Martinos I and II.

The first center for the assisted living of people with Down’s syndrome was opened by the Kokori Foundation in March 2007, under the guidance of reposed Archbishop of Athens Christodoulos.

The addresses, at the event, by Pavlopoulos and Archbishop Ieronymos are posted today on the Orthodoxia news agency’s webpages.
