The Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos, on Thursday attended the inauguration of a new cultural and spiritual center built and operated by the Metropolis of Halkida, in south-central Greece.
The event coincided with the 21st anniversary of the enthronement of resident Metropolitan, His Eminence Chrysostomos, as the shepherd of the specific Metropolis of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece.
His Beatitude Ieronymos likened the specific center as a life-jacket, one with which a young person can seek rescue while struggling in a stormy sea, as modern life often resembles.
