The ordination of the new Metropolitan of Sisanion and Siatista, His Eminence Athanasios, was held on Saturday at the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Annunciation in Athens.
Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos II, officiated at the Holy Liturgy, accompany by several other Church hierarachs.
“Today all will congratulate you, however, things will not always remains as such. Those who today are moved and embrace you may, tomorrow, disparage you. For you, however, the focus must be the Holy Altar; whether you are joyous or saddened, you must worship at the Holy Altar,” Ieronymos characteristically said in his sermon.
