Orthodox Church of Albania clarifies position regarding Ecumenical Patriarchate’s granting of autocephaly to Ukrainian Orthodox Church

The Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania will remain by the side of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, Archbishop of Tirana, Durres and All Albania, His Beatitude Anastasios, emphasized on Saturday, in reference the distressing inter-Orthodox situation following the granting of the Tomos of autocephaly to the Orthodox Church of the Ukraine by the latter.

In a lengthy address posted by the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania on its website, http://orthodoxalbania.net/index.php/en-us/lajme-3/blog/6884-on-the-ukrainian-ecclesiastical-question-2nd-reply-speaking-the-truth-in-love , and entitled “On the Ukrainian Ecclesiastical Question. 2nd Reply: Speaking the Truth in Love”, a portion of the reply reads:

“…in order to avoid any possible misinterpretation, we clarify that in the case of a tragic outcome to Schism (May God not allow it!), the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania will remain with the Ecumenical Patriarchate firmly speaking the truth in love. “
