With the blessing of the Archbishop of Australia, His Eminence Makarios, a historic decision was taken on Monday by members of the Orthodox community of St. Spyridon of Kingsford, Sydney.
Specifically, some 85 percent of voting community members approved a proposal to enter into the full spiritual and administrative jurisdiction of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia.
A change in the community’s charter was approved, heralding its conversion into a parish of the Holy Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia.
