More than 24,500 pilgrims have venerated the relics of Saint Parascheva in Iași as of Thursday morning, according to Agerpres.
The annual pilgrimage in Iași began on Wednesday morning with the procession of Saint Parascheva’s relics and their placement in the outdoor baldachin near the Metropolitan Cathedral.
Authorities have urged pilgrims to pay special attention to children and elderly persons accompanying them to prevent anyone from getting lost and to keep their personal belongings secure.
“A very large attendance is expected at this event, and the waiting time could be long. It is advisable to bring water and food supplies, as shops are not available in all areas along the pilgrimage route,” the Bacău Mobile Gendarmerie Unit announced.
“If for any reason you leave the line temporarily, stay in touch with your group and inform volunteers or security personnel. Make sure your phone is charged and, if possible, carry a power bank to remain in contact with your family or group,” the authorities added.
Starting October 11, the relics of Saint Gregory Palamas, brought from Thessaloniki, will also be placed for veneration alongside those of Saint Parascheva.
The Archdiocese of Iași has made two phone numbers available to pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage period: +40757.579.100 and +40757.033.466, both active between October 8–15. Additionally, pilgrims can check the line’s real-time position on the websites doxologia.ro and mmb.ro.
