Following the devastating floods that have severely impacted the counties of Galați, Argeș, Vaslui, and other regions across Romania, the Romanian Orthodox Church has issued a call for solidarity. His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel urged Christians to unite to support those affected, including socially vulnerable individuals and grieving families.
In a statement, the Patriarch encouraged clergy and believers to offer spiritual and material assistance, including financial donations and non-perishable food. The Patriarch has also expressed his condolences to families who lost loved ones in the floods, offering prayers for the deceased and comfort for the bereaved.
The Romanian Orthodox Church joins national and local authorities in ongoing efforts to help those suffering from the disaster’s consequences.
A Call for Solidarity with Those Severely Affected by Floods
In the wake of the massive floods in the counties of Galați, Argeș, and Vaslui, as well as other areas of the country, we make a Christian call for solidarity with the disaster victims, the socially vulnerable, and the grieving families.
The Romanian Patriarchate joins central and local institutions and authorities in an effort to support our fellow citizens who are going through great suffering.
Clergy and believers from all dioceses are encouraged to actively contribute to their aid through prayer and collecting financial donations and non-perishable food items.
We also convey a message of compassion to the grieving families, to whom we extend our sympathy, and we pray to our Lord Jesus Christ to grant peace to those who have died due to the floods and to bring comfort and spiritual strength to their loved ones.
