The Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Kirill, opened a supreme ecclesiastical council by referring to the problems faced by clerics’ families in our era.
The Patriarch of the Moscow Church said: “… the crisis in family values, which has harmed today’s society, has also affected the families of our priests. There is a negative trend in maintaining the families of clerics, and in general, the nature of these families. No matter what may occur, a priest must consider his family as something sacred, as a significant portion of his life.”
