The Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, His Beatitude Theodoros II, on Friday celebrates his patronal name today while on a pastoral and apostolic tour of Kenya.
The Primate of the second-in-rank Orthodox Patriarchate has recorded prolific missionary work throughout the African continent over the years, visiting practically every parish to bless the flock and clergy and to offer His testimony of faith and His blessings.

On Thursday, His Beatitude was warmly received by Kenyan President Willian Ruto at the State House in Nairobi, where the country’s head of state emphasized that investments by faith organizations, including the Orthodox Church, have helped thousands of Kenyans access quality education and health care services.

In response, Patriarch Theodoros said the Orthodox Church commits to more philanthropic work in Kenya.

On the occasion of the name day of the Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, the Orthodoxia news agency today has re-posted an interview given by His Beatitude to journalist Maria Giachnaki regarding the Patriarchate’s robust missionary work.

Several features have also been posted on the Pemptousia platform, focusing on the Patriarchate and its Shepherd.
