The Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, His Most Divine Beatitude Theodoros II, this week visited the commander of Cyprus’ National Guard, Lt. Gen. Dimokritos Zervakis.
His Most Divine Beatitude was accompanied by the Patriarchal Exarch in Cyprus, Bishop Nico-DI-mos.

Discussions revolved around the missionary work of the Orthodox Church throughout Africa, as well as the recent granting of land to the Patriarchate of Alexandria by the President of Egypt, Fattah Al Sisi, in a new Egyptian administrative capital.

Afterwards, the Primate of the Alexandrian Church travelled to the city of Larnaca, where he met with His Grace Bishop Nektarios of Kition.

The hierarchs later announced that a once-a-month service of the Divine Liturgy at the Church of St. George will be celebrated in the English language, in order to cater to the spiritual needs of an English-speaking congregation in Larnaca that hails from South Africa.
