Τhe Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, His Beatitude Theodoros II, on the Sunday of Orthodoxy officiated at the Divine Liturgy with the visiting Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine, His Beatitude Epiphanius, at the Holy Cathedral of the Annunciation of the Theotokos, in the Great City of Alexandria.
After the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria welcomed His Beatitude Epiphanius, and bestowed upon him an Archieratical Engolpion, or medallion with an icon at the center, along with a Hierarch’s staff.
In his welcoming address to the Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine, the Shepherd of the Alexandria Patriarchate noted that “…I welcome you as an equal and canonical Primate of a martyred and populous Church, in the wake of an absolutely correct, from a Canonical and Rightful standpoint, granting of Autocephaly by the All-Sacred Ecumenical Throne and its Venerable Primate, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, towards the Holy Metropolis of Kyiv and All Ukraine.”
