The Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, His Beatitude Theodoros II, on Thursday inaugurated a new school of the Holy Metropolis of Northern Madagascar, as he continued a pastoral visit to the large Indian Ocean island nation.
A day earlier, His Beatitude was received by the President of the Republic of Madagascar, Andry Rajoelina, in the capital city of Antananarivo.
Patriarch Theodoros was accompanied by the resident Metropolitan Ignatius of Northern Madagascar and Bishop Prodromos of Toliara and Southern Madagascar, along with the ambassador of Egypt to country, Usama Khalil, and the honorary consul of Cyprus to Madagascar, Panagiotis Taloumis.
The reception of the Alexandrian primate took place on the occasion of a pastoral tour he is carrying out this month in Madagascar.
