In Damascus, the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, His Beatitude John X, this week received the minister for presidential affairs, Mansour Azzam, who represented Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
The meeting came on the occasion of last weekend’s Holy Easter celebration, with talks subsequently revolving on the situation in the war-ravaged Mideast country, and especially the Syrian government’s battle with the so-called “Islamic State” terror group.
