The Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Most Godly Beatitude Theophilos II, on Friday received 20 representatives of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society.
The Patriarch was briefed by the representatives, from Russia and elsewhere, over the Society support towards the Orthodox faithful in the Holy Land.
During the meeting, the chairman of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society, Sergey Stepashin, thanked His Beatitude on behalf of the society and briefed him on the activity of the society in the Holy Land, and especially for the suffering Christians of Syria.
Additionally, on the occasion of anniversary of the 200 years since the establishment of the society, Stepashin presented Patriarch Theophilos with the Supreme Award of the Society.
