Patriarch of Serbia Porfirije attends event inaugurating restoration of central tower as part of Holocaust remembrance

The Patriarch of Serbia, His Holiness Porfirije, this week joined the country’s president, Alexander Vucic, at an event inaugurating works for the restoration of the central tower of the Sajmište fairgrounds, in the center of Belgrade, the site of a Nazi German concentration camp during World War II.
In his comments, the Serbian Patriarch noted that “the act of creating a remembrance center is simultaneously an act of renewal of the deeper meaning of prayer for the memory of the victims.”
