On Sunday, 14 August, 2022, the eve of the feast, at the Roman Catholic Church of Trapezounda, which was offered to the Orthodox faithful, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presided over for the second time ( the first time being last year, 2021) at the Great Panegyric Vespers of the Dormition of the Theotokos.
Present also praying along with His All-Holiness were two Hierarchs of the Throne, who would also concelebrate the Divine Liturgy the following day at the Holy Monastery of Panagia Soumela with His All-Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew: Geron Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon and Archbishop Elpidophoros of America.
