The Parish of Saint Nicholas in Marrickville, Sydney, held a pilgrimage to the celebrating Holy Monastery of Saint George of the Mountain in Yellow Rock, New South Wales.

The pilgrims participated reverently and devoutly in the Divine Liturgy, which was celebrated by the Abbot of the Monastery, His Grace Bishop Iakovos of Miletoupolis.

Following the Divine Liturgy, His Grace welcomed Father Eirinaios Trialonakis, the Parish Priest of the Church of Saint Nicholas, and the pilgrims from the parish. He spoke to them about the history of the Monastery and the miraculous icon of the Panagia Kitrinopetritissa (“Our Lady of Yellow Rock”).

Later, in the monastery’s guest hall (archontariki), Father Eirinaios expressed his gratitude to the Abbot for his paternal words and for the warm hospitality shown to the pilgrims, offering his prayer that Saint George, the patron of the Monastery, would continue to strengthen the fathers in their spiritual labours there.

Finally, His Grace distributed blessings to the pilgrims and encouraged them never to forget the monasteries, to pray, and to light a candle, first for His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, and then for the fathers of the monastery.
