Sunday, 23 August 2026, a Poly-Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was celebrated for the Leave-taking of the Feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos at the historic Monastery of Panagia Soumela in Pontus, following permission granted by the relevant authorities.
The Divine Liturgy was presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Varnavas of Neapolis and Stavroupolis, representing His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, and concelebrated by Their Graces Bishop Kassianos of Aravissos and Bishop Paisios of Xanthoupolis.
