In Russia, miners of an underground facility in the western city of Zverevo witnessed the local Russian Orthodox bishop, His Grace Simon, come down 700 meters below the earth’s surface to pray for their safety, health and prosperity.
A small chapel has been built at the mine’s entrance, dedicated to the 3rd century martyr St. Alexander of Comana – known as “the charcoal burner”.
