The Metropolitan of Kastoria, His Eminence Kallinikos, on Sunday attended remembrance events on the anniversary of the destruction of the northern Greece village of Lehovo by German occupation forces during WWII.
An archieratical Divine Liturgy was held on Sunday, officiated by His Eminence, followed by a memorial service for the fallen during the Second World War and the subsequent Axis occupation.
The Church of St. Demetrius, and only one residence, was spared by the Nazis during the war crime.
