The liturgical events at the Patriarchal Cathedral of “Saints Constantine and Helen” in Bucharest, marking the general proclamation of the canonisation of 16 Romanian holy women, will take place according to the following schedule:

On Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., at the Patriarchal Cathedral, at the conclusion of Vespers, the final memorial service will be held for the 16 Romanian women of holy life — martyrs, monastics, wives of rulers, mothers of saints, and confessors.

On Friday, February 6, 2026, the programme will begin at 7:45 a.m. with a procession carrying the holy relics from the Patriarchal Cathedral — those of Saint Demetrius the New, the Holy Emperors Constantine and Helen, and Saint Nectarios of Aegina — as well as the relics of Saint Catherine the Great Martyr from the Patriarchal Residence. These will be placed at the Baldachin of the Saints to facilitate pilgrims’ access for veneration.

Between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at the Patriarchal Cathedral by Patriarch Daniel, together with the members of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church.

Toward the end of the Divine Liturgy, before its conclusion, the solemn ceremony of the general proclamation of the canonisation of the 16 Romanian holy women will take place, officiated by Patriarch Daniel and attended by the hierarchs of the Holy Synod.
