The Bishop of Ploesti, His Grace Varlaam, the First Secretary of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church, this week met with the new deputy foreign minister for Romanians abroad, Oana Ursache, with talks focusing on the promotion of common Church-state initiatives towards the benefit of overseas Romanian communities.
The new deputy minister, who assumed the post last month, referred to the importance that the Orthodox Church holds for ethnic Romanians that have emigrated from the country.
