The Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Kirill, this week visited the Butovo memorial and museum on the outskirts of Moscow.
The site, once a firing range, was used by the Bolsheviks after 1917 as an execution site. Thousands of Church hierarchs, clergymen and Orthodox faithful were executed at the site, including 10 Greek Orthodox martyrs.
