The most significant events of the Great Patriotic War, as WWII is known in the country, will be depicted on the exterior of an Orthodox Cathedral dedicated to the armed forces. The cathedral is expected to be completed in 2020 in a clearing overlooking a highway on the grounds of the Patriot Park, located some 60 kilometers west of Moscow.
The defense of Moscow, the Battle of Stalingrad, the liberation of Sevastopol, and the final entry into Berlin and the Reichstag will be among the depictions.
