On Monday, 22 September, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia received the visit of the popular Greek singer Mr. Giannis Ploutarchos, who was accompanied by Greek-Australian businessman Mr. Konstantinos Tagalakis and artistic events organiser Mr. Nicholas Theodorakopoulos.
Mr. Ploutarchos, who was participating in a series of scheduled concerts in various Australian cities, during his stay in Sydney graciously chose to visit the headquarters of the Holy Archdiocese, in order to pay his respects to the Archbishop and receive his blessing.
His Eminence welcomed him warmly, and they conversed in a friendly atmosphere about the life of the Greek diaspora, as well as about the work of the Orthodox Church on the fifth continent.
At the end of the meeting, good wishes were exchanged, while Archbishop Makarios presented the visitors with commemorative coins from the anniversary series issued to mark the centenary of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia.
