A relevant alternate Greek health minister on Thursday said Easter this year will be celebrated with all previously applied Covid-19 restrictions in place, as most restrictions set to be lifted as of May 1.
Turning to a related development, a group of healthcare professionals in Greece, who continue a hunger strike to protest their suspension because they refuse to receive Covid-19 vaccinations, addressed an open letter to the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos, seeking his intervention, as they said. The suspended health care employees want the Archbishop to intervene with the prime minister, so a “solution”, as they said, can be found.
The measure requiring health care professionals to get the vaccinations went into effect in Greece eight months ago.
