A group of 35 Syrian Christians, led by the Patriarchate of Antioch’s Bishop of Erzurum, His Grace Qais Sadiq, were hosted for 10 days in the country. The group of Syrian pilgrims were received by the Patriarch of All Romania, His Beatitude Daniel.
Their pilgrimage, entitled “Romania, The Virgin Mary’s Garden”, included visits to monasteries in the country and neighboring Moldova.

In a statement, His Beatitude Daniel noted that “… Relations between our two Holy Churches are characterized by a strong love and cooperation. Therefore, we consider that this pilgrimage that you performed in Romania is one of friendship, confirmation and the unity of Orthodoxy.”
