In a spirit of Paschal joy, His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain presided at the Service of the Resurrection and celebrated the Paschal Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Divine Wisdom in London.
Concelebrating with His Eminence were the Very Revd Archimandrite Theonas Bakalis, the Very Revd Hieromonk Methodios, and the Revd Archdeacon George Tsourous.
As Holy Week reached its fulfilment, the faithful gathered in great numbers to receive the light of the Resurrection. Approaching midnight, His Eminence emerged bearing the Holy Light and proclaimed the triumphant message, “Christ is Risen,” a moment received with deep emotion and joy by all present.
The Cathedral was filled with clergy, faithful, and distinguished guests, among them the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic, His Excellency Yiannis Tsaousis and the High Commisioner of the Republic of Cyprus HE Kyriakos Kouros, who joined in this most sacred celebration of the Church’s life – the Feast of Feasts.
