His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew honoured with his presence the memorial event held on Saturday, 6 September 2025, in Neochori on the Bosphorus, within the framework of the “THEOTOKEIA 2025” celebrations and on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the pogrom against the Greeks of Constantinople (September 6, 1955 – September 6, 2025).
The event, which took place in the Community Hall of the Church of the Panagia Koumariotissa in Neochori, featured the presentation of the book by Serdar Korucu, “Very Bad Things Happened in the City That Night. The Last Witnesses Recount the Pogrom of September 1955” (published by Istos).

A greeting was also delivered by the President of the Neochori Community, Nikolaos Kalamaris.
At the event were present: His Eminence Metropolitan Athenagoras of Kydonia, Overseer of the Bosphorus District, Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and a large crowd of people.
