His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew was the keynote speaker at the 12th International Academic Meeting of Orthodoxy and Judaism, entitled “The Sacredness of Place, the Sacredness of Space,” which took place in Geneva, Switzerland.
In his address, the Ecumenical Patriarch emphasised that sacred spaces and human dignity are inseparably connected. He called upon communities to honour and respect one another, listening attentively to each other’s concerns and perspectives.
In a world confronted with division, conflict, and fear, dialogue is more essential than ever. Every act of hospitality, respect, and sincere conversation constitutes a step toward peace.
His All-Holiness was accompanied at this interfaith gathering by its co-president, His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, and Grand Archimandrite Iakovos. His Eminence Metropolitan Maximos of Switzerland was also present.
