On Wednesday, January 14, 2026, the Despotic Feast of the Circumcision of Christ was celebrated at the Patriarchate, together with the commemoration of Saint Basil the Great, Archbishop of Caesarea in Cappadocia, at the Holy Monastery dedicated to him near the New Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem.

On the occasion of the commemoration of Saint Basil the Great, Vespers were celebrated in the afternoon and the Divine Liturgy in the morning by the visiting Priest Fr Stephanos of the Church of Greece, through the care and hospitality of the Hegumen, the Elder Kamarasis, Archimandrite Nektarios, and with the prayerful participation of monks, nuns, Jerusalemite faithful, and pilgrims.

During the Divine Liturgy, His Beatitude, our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem, Theophilos, visited the Holy Monastery for veneration, together with the Fathers of the Holy Sepulchre Brotherhood, and he cut the Vasilopita.

His Beatitude and the congregation were graciously received by the Hegumen, the Elder Kamarasis, Archimandrite Nektarios, who diligently oversees and maintains the Monastery.
