This saint, who was from Heliopolis of Phoenicia (Baalbek in present-day Lebanon), was an idolater and led a licentious life. She was led to repentance by a monk named Germanus, and baptized by Bishop Theodotus. Afterwards, she distributed to the poor all her ill-gotten gains.
She achieved the crown of martyrdom in the 2nd century after being betrayed as a Christian by her former companions.
Today is also the feast day of Andonina the New Martyr.
