On Saturday, 26 July 26, the day on which our Holy Church celebrated the memory of the glorious martyr of Christ, Saint Paraskevi, the established Vespers Service in memory of the beloved Saint was held late in the afternoon at Her Sanctified Spring, which is located within the boundaries of the Community of Neochori on the Bosporus. The blessing of the Artoklasia was made for the health of the parishioners and devout pilgrims, who filled the spacious courtyard of the Sanctified Spring.
The holy service was officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan Athenagoras of Kydonia, Patriarchal Supervisor of the Bosporus District. The holy sermon was preached by Archimandrite Gideon Magriotis, Proistamenos of the Diplokion Community, who spoke about the life of the celebrated Saint and her messages to the Christians of the 21st century. The regular chanters of the Neochori Community chanted diligently at the Vespers service.
This was followed, in an extremely pleasant atmosphere, by the distribution of artos and various sweets and refreshments in the courtyard of the Sanctified Spring, where the Christians were given the opportunity to congratulate and wish happy name day to Mrs. Paraskevi-Rea Kalfaoglou, President of the Community of Saint Nicholas. Until the time of sunset arrived, when everyone descended, returning to their homes, sanctified and strengthened by the grace of the holy martyr Saint Paraskevi.
