Abbot Symeon came to seek the venerable Patriarchal blessings for his new ministry at the historic Monastery before his episcopal ordination.

On Thursday, 9 October 2025, His Grace Archbishop-elect Symeon, Archbishop of Sinai, Pharan, and Raitho, and new Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Saint Catherine at Mount Sinai, paid a visit to the See of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. He was accompanied by Archimandrite Agathangelos Marangoudakis, a member of the Mt Sinai Brotherhood.

The new Abbot requested and received the blessing of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, whom he also informed about the progress of matters concerning the Monastery.

The Ecumenical Patriarch congratulated him on his worthy election and wished him a fruitful ministry in his new and highly responsible duties for the benefit of the ancient Monastery of Mt Sinai. He also expressed to His Grace and the Brotherhood his wholehearted personal support and that of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
