With full solemnity and due ecclesiastical splendour, on Sunday, 12 October 2025, the ordination of His Grace Bishop Ioannis of Skiathos was celebrated at the Cathedral of Athens.
The Hierarchical Divine Liturgy was presided over by His Beatitude Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, concelebrating with Their Eminences Metropolitans Ignatios of Demetrias, Chrysostomos of Chalkida, Chrysostomos of Messinia, Gabriel of Nea Ionia, Theoklitos of Ierissos, Timotheos of Thessaliotis and Fanariofersala, Amphilochios of Thira, Nikiforos of Gortyna, Serapion of Paramythia, and His Grace Bishop Nikodimos of Skopelos.
A large number of faithful from the new Bishop’s homeland, Chalkida, filled the Cathedral in order to extend their heartfelt congratulations and prayers to the new hierarch of the Church of Greece.
