On Sunday, the 11th/23rd of November, our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem, Theophilos, received the President of the Christian party “Niki”, Mr Dimitrios Natsios, accompanied by the Member of Parliament for Katerini, Mr Komninos Delveroudis, on the occasion of his three-day visit to Jerusalem and the Holy Places.
During the meeting, a constructive discussion took place regarding the ongoing work of safeguarding the Holy Shrines, the educational mission of the Patriarchate throughout all the regions under its jurisdiction, and the peace-building and social efforts of the Patriarchate in collaboration with the other Churches and organisations of the Middle East. These efforts concern both the protection of the Christians and the preservation of the status quo, as well as the relief of those afflicted by the war.
Mr Natsios thanked His Beatitude for the hospitality, while His Beatitude praised him for the success of the Niki movement in the Hellenic Parliament, noting that from the seats of Primary Education Mr Natsios ascended to the seats of the Hellenic Parliament. He wished him every success in presenting the values of the Bible and of Romiosyni. He commended his initiative, blessed him, and further prayed that his witness and that of his colleagues may become a bulwark against globalisation and a support to the institution of the Family.
