Archpriest Dimitry Smirnov, of the Russian Orthodox Church, this week referred to “the mass murder of babies”, in condemning the practice of abortion. Fr. Smirnov, who heads the Russian Church’s Committee for Family, Motherhood, and Children, spoke at a medical conference, where he likened abortion to the Holocaust.
The well-known Russian hierarch repeated that the Russian Orthodox Church continues to press for a complete ban on abortion in the country.
