The Visit of the Patriarch of Bulgaria to the Ecumenical Patriarchate has Concluded

The peaceful visit of the newly elected Patriarch of Bulgaria, Daniil, to the Ecumenical Patriarchate was concluded on Sunday, 28 December.

On that day, the Patriarch of Bulgaria presided at the Divine Liturgy celebrated at the Church of Saint Stephen in Yeşilköy, within the Metropolis of Derkoi. His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, was present in prayer.

Patriarch Daniil was formally addressed by His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi, and the Patriarch of Bulgaria responded appropriately.

In statements to Bulgarian media outlets, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew expressed his complete satisfaction with the visit of the new Primate of the Bulgarian Church to the Ecumenical Patriarchate and conveyed his confidence in a shared course of cooperation on major issues facing the Church.

Elder Metropolitan Apostolos of Derkoi, hosted a reception on the occasion of his seventy-third birthday, which was attended by the Ecumenical Patriarch, the Patriarch of Bulgaria, hierarchs of the Ecumenical Throne and of the Church of Bulgaria, as well as members of the Greek Orthodox community.
