On Saturday, May 9th, 2026, at the Cathedral Church of Saint Nicholas in Seoul, the Sacrament. The wedding of Myron (Juwon Kim) and Vasilia (Jaeeun Seo) was celebrated amid the light and joy of the Paschal season, officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan Ambrosios of Korea and Exarch of Japan, together with Fr. Anthony Woo, Fr. Roman Kavchak, Fr. Anthony Lim, and Deacon Christopher Jonker.
At the conclusion of the mystery, Metropolitan Ambrosios spoke of the crisis facing the institution of the family, manifested in the refusal of many young people not only to commit themselves to the sacred bonds of marriage, but also, even when they do enter into marriage, to embrace the bearing of children, which has given rise to the grave problem of declining birth rates. For this reason, he thanked the newlyweds, whose decision to celebrate their marriage in the Church brought great joy to all who were present.
In closing, he exhorted the newlyweds, first, to love Christ more and more each day, so that they might love one another ever more deeply throughout their lives. And second, to keep Christ is not merely around them but between them, so that evil, in whatever form it might take, would remain far from them.
Particularly moving to all was the large gathering of young people from the “Syndesmos”group, many of whom have known the newlyweds within the bosom of the Church since their childhood years.
The warm wish and heartfelt prayer of all for the newly joined couple is that they may live in happiness and build a blessed Orthodox Christian family.
