Alexios is currently the first secretary of the specific Metropolis.
The three mayors addressed a relevant letter to members of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece’s permanent Holy Synod.
Holy Synod hierarchs are due to elect a new Metropolitan, less than a month after the passing of Metropolitan Pavlos last month.
