Honorary Patriarch of Ukraine Filaret actually approved the decision on disbanding the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate. The video of the event that took place in December 2018 has been published on the Ukrainian Church YouTube channel on June 4.
In the video, one can hear Filaret agreeing to vote for dissolution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate.
When the majority of the church officials approved the decision, he was the first to have signed the document.
Previously, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine recognized all documents released by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate after January 30, 2019 null and void.
The Synod of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine confirmed its intention to adhere by the new Statute approved at the Convent in December 2018. Filaret was the only churchman who did not sign the respective decision.
