NEW YORK – His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America celebrated, the evening of Wednesday Jan. 9, 2020, the beginning of the new year with the leadership and members of the leading Greek-American professional organizations. The Archbishop cut the traditional New Year’s Vassilopita and exchanged greetings with all in attendance. The Organizations included the following: Hellenic Lawyers Association, Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce, Hellenic Medical Society of New York, Cyprus-U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Hellenic Professional Women Inc., & HABA – Hellenic American Association for Professionals in Finance

The celebration took place at the Cathedral Center of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Manhattan.

Later the same evening, His Eminence cut the traditional New Year’s Vassilopita for the Federation of Hellenic Societies of Greater New York at the organization’s headquarters, the Stathakeion in Astoria, NY. Archbishop Elpidophoros also participated in the meeting in preparation of the Greek Independence Day Parade on Fifth Avenue which will take place March 29, 2020.
