The Monastery of the Taxiarches, or Archangels, in the coastal mountain range of Pelion, in eastern central Greece, will permanently host the Holy Icon of the Congregation of the Archangels, Michael and Gabriel, which will be conveyed by the Elder Archimandrite Ephraim, the Abbot of the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopedi, on the monastic community of Mt. Athos.
The icon will remain at the Taxiarches monastery as its “Protector Icon”, with the blessing of the Metropolitan of Dimitriados and Almyros, His Eminence Ignatios.
